August/September 2005
Kids in the club created two 3 foot square quilts that became part of the Children's Cloth of Many Colors, which was displayed on the lawn of the Capitol building on September 12th.

October 2005
Cheverly Kids Care Club staffed a table at the flea market and sold donated goods to raise money for Katrina. They raised $550! The kids are voting to choose the charity that will receive the money.

Kids ages 9 and up helped to care for the animals at the Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary. Interest in this event was strong and we can only take 8 kids at a time, so we expect to plan a second event in January and a third in the spring.

November
A few kids with interest in amatuer radio operation will visit with a New Carollton septuagenarian who has a collection of antique radio equipment. We are expecting this multi-generational sharing to benefit everyone involved!

On November 20th, we'll have the first public showing of the Life Has No Reset Button Public Service Announcement that many kids in the club helped to create.

December
Santa's Secret Shop will be held on December 3rd, and this year the proceeds will beneif the Cheverly Young Actor's Guild. If you would like to volunteer for the event, please contact Joani Horchler.

January
Kids 9 & up may make another visit to Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary.

February
Valentine's Day Party at the Shephard's Cove Shelter. Joani Horchler will be organizing this event. Please contact her if you would like to help.

March
The 6-9 group will be hosting a First Annual Senior Spring Appreciation Dinner. All age groups will be invited to participate. This event is under development, please contact Sonya Braddock or Janice Clark-Mereday to help or for more information.

April April 22nd will mark out Third Annual participation in the Bladensburg Waterfront Cleanup,

Cheverly Day is early this year! Save the date: April 29th. Cheverly Kids Care Club kids can help with the race and can help staff the Midway booths.
